Women’s Sex Drive
Declines Over Time
Women often
lose interest in having regular sex as time passes in their
relationship with a man.
German sex researchers have
discovered that less than half of 30-year-old women still wanted
regular sex by the time their relationship exceeded four
years.
In contrast, the study learned that the men’s sex drive remained the same
(high) no
matter how
long they are in a romantic relationship.
As published in the journal
Human
Nature, the research team reported that
the differences
arose from how humans had evolved over centuries.
“For men, a good reason their
sexual motivation to remain constant would be to guard against
being cuckolded by another male,” noted Dr Dietrich
Klusmann
A study conducted by the experts from Hamburg-Eppendort University
Hospital, posed
questions to 530 men and women on how their relationships were
working.
They discovered that about six-tenths of women aging 30
desired sex “frequently” only for a
period of three years from the start of their relationships.
Then, after four years, it dropped to
less than half, and their libido dropped further to
one-fifth after 20 years.
On the other hand, they discovered that a high percentage of men are still
in same level of sex
desire (sixty to eighty percent) no matter how long they have
been in a
relationship.
Tenderness
The study also tells us that tenderness was significant for ladies in
a relationship. It awakens gentle
emotions like love, affection, pity and kindliness.
Regardless of time spent in a relationship, almost all
ladies wanted tenderness in a relationship,
but only one-fourth of gentlemen were still searching for
tenderness from their partner.
Dr
Dietrich Klusmann, lead author of the study and a psychologist
from Hamburg- Eppendorf
University Hospital, believed the differences were down to
human evolution.. He said: "For men,
a good reason their sexual
motivation to remain constant would be to guard against being
cuckolded by another male."
